We decided to build a Politics Page when
we had to find some way of presenting a Michael Manley Page on Jamaica Today.
Knolly Moses had approached the former Prime Minister with the idea on one
of his frequent morning walks at the Mona Dam, near the University of the
West Indies. He was flattered, and had his office send us a huge text that
documented his major professional, political and personal accomplishments.
We then edited that down to manageable size and put up the page.
The response was immediate. Our guest book was filled with
positive comments about the availability of the information. Through his
wife Glynne Manley, we learned that he was pleased with the page. We then
decided to create links to the three political parties and to a page hosted
by Minister of Commerce & Technology Phillip Paulwell. In addition,
each month we would have an item in this space on national political developments.
We also designed a Political Timeline page as a special feature for researchers.
