David Cameron heralded his visit to Jamaica last week with plans to build a prison. But the natives were restless, and wanted reparations for slavery instead. The British Prime Minister adroitly sidestepped the issue with his stiff upper lip, offending many Jamaicans. That we got one and no promise of the other was not lost on social media users:




Debate ensued, with people being outraged and insulted by the prison offer, as well as upset that the money is not being used for other things. A protest is being held tomorrow outside Parliament in response to the government's accepting Britain's offer:




Despite the very real anger and resentment expressed, Jamaicans always leave room for humour and skepticism of politicians:
