JDIC Website To Show How Your Money Is Protected

Panmedia’s designers and developers are giving the Jamaica Deposit Insurance Corporation website a brand new look.  The revamped site will launch in March and will utilize various online interactive techniques to encourage stakeholder engagement.

The new site is content driven and is designed to support the JDIC’s sustained public education and awareness programmes that promote the benefits and protection offered by the Deposit Insurance Scheme.

Increase your reach with a mobile site

If creating a mobile website for your business is not your number one New Year’s Resolution you may want to reconsider your priorities.

We’ll share the statistics. Google reports a 400% increase in mobile searches in the last year, and 20% of its searches now are from devices mobile. By 2013, more people will use mobile phones than PCs to get online, according to Gartner.  In Jamaica, our penetration of mobile devices is an astounding 107 percent, with 2.97 million subscribers.

That’s a lot of prospective customers you might be missing if your website isn’t optimized for mobile devices (BlackBerry, Android or iPhone).

The Office of Utility Regulations is taking a unique approach to maintain its online presence. Not satisfied to simply update its site with a content management system, the agency wants to make structural changes when necessary.

So Leighton Hamilton, Director of Information Systems at OUR, opted to give his information technology staff what they need to manage their site from soup to nails. That’s where Panmedia came in. Hamilton believes his IT Department should have cutting edge technology tools to manage their site since it is integral to the OUR’s daily operations.

FAMBIZ pushing ethics in SMEs

Panmedia recently produced a training video for small and medium sized enterprise owners and managers on ethics in business. It aims to give insights in situations that are challenging for these enterprises and demonstrates how ethics decisions affect their viability.

The storyline was written by Fambiz Project Manager Sandra Shirley, with input from members of Jamaican Businesses Against Corruption. Fambiz is an initiative of the Private Sector of Jamaica to improve competitiveness of family business through corporate governance. Fambiz is supported by the Inter American Investment Corporation, the Government of the Republic of Korea, Scotiabank and Pan-Jamaican Investment Trust Fund.

The site is a comprehensive web friendly view of Surrey paving that reflects the company’s achievements as an industry leader. It showcases company services, the company’s ISO 9001 accreditation and recent projects displayed in a gallery format.

Surrey Paving CEO Leslie Chang says he wanted the website to better reflect the company’s recent work.
