Development Bank of Jamaica Greens SMEs
The Development Bank of Jamaica recognizes that the greening of small and medium enterprises is more than a fad. Their very survival depends on it.
As energy prices soar and business profits decline, many SMEs are closing their doors. Enter the DBJ Green Biz Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Programme, which is intended to cap this problem.
Green Biz is encouraging SMEs to adopt comprehensive systems for energy efficiency in the same way that large enterprises do, and Panmedia has been invited to get the word out through an integrated marketing and public awareness campaign.
Laptops in our primary schools?
When a co-worker once insisted his children should always have the latest digital technology, we thought that was indulgent. Today, we wouldn’t be so hasty. Technology is changing faster than we can say Apple and those born into it act like digital natives.
So a letter in the Gleaner about an elementary school asking a student to keep his laptop at home surprised us. In the Gleaner’s Ask The Doc, the boy’s mother insists the technology helps him with schoolwork and is more efficient for assignments.
Have some bunny fun this Easter
How quick are you on the click? Panmedia’s online Easter game, Grab Di Bunny, is a fun way to test if you have rabbit-fire reflexes and the manual dexterity of a true gamer.
It’s a race against time to see how many cute bunnies you can grab with your mouse and put in the basket before time runs out. If your game fingers are itching over the Easter holidays and you play Grab Di Bunny you could be rewarded for your skills. The four top scorers on Tuesday, April 10, 10 AM will each win a large Scotiabank umbrella.
Use QR Codes to market your product
They’re popping up everywhere – in magazines, newspaper ads, ad hoc signs and brochures. QR codes have become ubiquitous. These Quick Response squares that smartphone users can scan for real time access to pertinent information is almost like money.
QR codes are gaining in popularity for good reason. Consumers want immediate and easy access to what’s relevant and QR codes make that possible.
QR codes are similar to the barcodes used by retailers to track inventory and price products at the point of sale.
Digicel 8.99 Puzzle Game
The week was predictable until Digicel called. They wanted a game to launch their One Rate 8.99 Campaign, and fast. We were facing other deadlines so we were tentative in our response.

Created since 2009, Pinterest. has suddenly skyrocketed in popularity. The invitation-only site now has 11.7 million monthly active users, increasing fivefold since last September. Time magazine listed Pinterest in its "50 Best Websites of 2011" column.
