Apple continues to stamp its mark in the technology market as it releases product after product; each one having its own unique features and standing in a class of its own! The company recently incorporated the Thunderbolt technology in its MacBooks; the first to have its product hosting the technology. Apple then took it to another level in the Ipap category and recently released its new Ipad 2, which is said to have a lot of upgrades from the Ipad 1. According to Apple, upgrades from the original Ipad are: the Ipad 2 is twice faster than the ipad1 , has a "1GHz dual-core Apple A5 custom-designed, high-performance, low-power system-on-a-chip" and has 9 times faster graphics than the original. The Ipad 2 is: 0.34 inch (8.8 mm); however the Ipad1 is :(0.5 inch 13.4 mm). The Ipad 2 is lighter than the Ipad1. The Ipad 2 has two cameras for taking pictures and video calling - one on the back that can also record videos in 720p resolution and a lower-resolution one on the front, and the Ipad 2 will include Apple's Face Time video chat software. The Ipad2 also comes with a magnetic screen cover which fits perfectly to the screen and folds over to a standing pad for the Ipad so it can stand upright or lay down diagonally to assist in user interface. Well, basically these are all the major upgrades to the Ipad but we know in any area of life there are advantages and disadvantages and it’s no different for the Ipad 2. These disadvantages can be noted as: 1. No USB port and SD card slot. 2. Still the Same-screen technology. 3. Software is not much different. 4. Additional connectivity is expensive. Even though the Ipad 2 has these disadvantages it’s still a product that’s in a class of its own as advantages out way the disadvantages on a scale of 3:1. It is an improvement from the original Ipad 1 and I , like everybody else, expect sales to excel those of the Ipad 1. Choosing between various models of the first iPad was a rather simple affair. There were three capacities, and each one of those had a Wi-Fi-only model, and a Wi-Fi + 3G variant. But at launch, there were just the Wi-Fi units. Now, for each of those capacities (which remain unchanged), there's not just two colour choices (black and white), but you can also get each capacity with 3G in either a GSM or a CDMA antenna. Each of those models has two colours, and the models with 3G can be had on either Verizon or AT&T, totalling 18 different types of iPad2. With prices varying from $499-$829 based on each memory size and Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi+ 3G (as expected).
