Gmail has now made its built-in voice and video client much more convenient with the addition of multiple calls, call waiting, and hold, allowing users to manage several calls at the same time. If a new call comes in while you’re already talking to somebody, you can place the first person on hold and answer it, according to the official Gmail Blog. You can also switch between the two calls, just like a landline that has call waiting. In addition, while in conversation, a notification allows you to accept or reject calls. And best of all, these new multi-line features work with Gmail’s voice, video and the recently introduced phone calling. The only limitation with this new capability is that while you can entertain multiple calls from others on PCs, you’re only allowed two outgoing calls to physical phones at the same time. Gmail is currently offering free calls to the US and Canada through 2011, while calls to the rest of the world are a ridiculous low price of 0.02 cents per minute. All these services can be enjoyed with the quick and easy installation of a plug in. Gmail says it is making an effort to cater to its users.
