Smartphone technology is moving at lightening speed. Already creating a buzz worldwide, Sony Ericson’s Xperia Arc Android brags an amazing array of features not yet seen in other smartphones! And it is expensive, too, retailing at £460.

The Xperia X1’s specs include a 1GHz processor, a touch screen with 4.2 inch Reality Display, 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with 720p video, A-GPS, 512MB memory, 8GB SD card Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Facebook, HDMI port, MP3, MP4, Google search, Gmail, Google talk, YouTube, Adobe Flash 10.1, among other features.

The high-resolution screen is really bright and its keyboard is great for two-handed typing. The X1 is also debuting Minecraft on mobile. Minecraft is the block-building game that lets you create whatever you can think of out of textured cubes.

But this great phone is lacking what its competitors have as strong selling points. Apple uses their thousands of apps to attract sales while BlackBerry’s worldwide instant messaging compensates for poor internal features.

Even with wonderful internal features  the X1 needs a mobile feature that is a strong selling point to compete on all fronts in the smartphone market. If the past is any indication, Sony is likely to keep coming back stronger until they achieve this goal.
